Next time you flip on a Lakers game, be sure to watch for the hilarious reactions on the bench

With only five wins under their belt over a quarter of the way through the season, there is little to smile about if you play for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Since announcing his pending retirement at the end of November, Kobe Bryant and boys in Purple and Gold have taken fans on an emotional roller coaster ride.

Some games they show promise, one step forward. Other games they’re godawful, two steps back. Almost every game they’re down by double-digits. But aside from Kobe Bryant‘s ongoing farewell tour, it’s actually their antics on the sideline that have made every Lakers’ game must watch TV.

Most famously noted for their reaction to Shannon Brown‘s amazing block against the Atlanta Hawks circa 2009, the Lakers’ bench hasn’t had much to cheer about in recent years.

With that being said, despite being down on their luck, it hasn’t stopped the current Lakers’ bench from finding almost any reason to cheer defiantly in the face of despair.

More from Lake Show Life

Most known for his awesome bench celebrations and positive locker room presence, the bench is now full of Robert Sacres thoroughly enjoying Kobe’s last ride.

With Nick Young and rookie, Anthony Brown, headlining, the bench mob’s celebrations most notably started after Kobe’s dunk on Houston Rockets’ forward, Clint Capela.

That said, their latest masterpiece was on display Tuesday night after a Kobe Bryant spinning, contested, game sealing two pointer against the Denver Nuggets.

Instead of lamenting their lack of playing time, almost every Laker on the bench was ecstatic, lauding Kobe’s efforts as he came off the court.

Just look at the Larry Nance Jr. shimmy, the Roy Hibbert MJ shrug, the disbelief on twins Nick Young and Anthony Brown‘s faces, the genuine happiness D’Angelo Russell shows when interacting with Bryant.

All they seem to be missing is Dave Chappelle’s casual robot, which has since been perfected by Hank Conger of the Houston Astros.

These guys have lost over 80 percent of the games they’ve played this year but are still having fun. More over, the sheer fact that these players are able to find any joy under Byron Scott‘s reign is amazing in its own.

Regardless of what you think of the results, it’s hard not to like this Lakers team.
