If the Los Angeles Lakers trade Jordan Clarkson, these are five potential landing spots for the combo guard.

The Los Angeles Lakers have an important offseason ahead of them. They have loaded up on young talent in the past few drafts and will be looking to take some steps forward sooner than later. Los Angeles has the second and 28th picks in the 2017 NBA Draft, so they will be adding even more young pieces to the roster.

With the second pick, popular opinion has the Lakers selecting a guard, specifically UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball. The Lakers are huge fans of Ball’s, as they believe that he could be their point guard of the future.

If that is the case, changes to the current roster need to be made. 2015 first round pick, D’Angelo Russell, will be shifted over to shooting guard. Where does that leave Jordan Clarkson? It seems that he could be on the move as a result.

It was reported that the Lakers were ‘open-minded’ to moving Clarkson in a trade. It seems that the first report may have undersold the trade rumors. It was later reported that the Lakers are not only ‘open-minded’ to moving Clarkson, but are actively looking into offers for the combo guard.

If the Lakers are serious about moving on from Clarkson, they should have no shortage of suitors. He has already shown that he can fill multiple roles on a team. He played point guard as a rookie, shooting guard in his second year, and moved to a combo bench role for most of the 2016-17 season.

In addition to his versatility, Clarkson will be only 25 later in the month and has a favorable contract; he signed a four-year, $50 million deal last offseason. That is something that would interest many teams. Check out our slideshow of five potential landing spots for Clarkson if a trade is to happen.
