How does Olynyk fit the team/rebuild? Is he part of the future?

TA: While not being an essential piece to the rebuild he can certainly help speed it up. I’m anticipating the type of Pick-and-pop rapport between Rondo and him that KG had with Rajon. Most of all he’s a skilled big and outside of KG, Boston has had a dearth of big men that can play the game like he can. Is he part of the long term future? That I do not know. If he can put together a successful rookie campaign and continue the same in his sophomore season, maybe but at this phase of the franchise it’s irresponsible to say that anyone is guaranteed to be here long term and not subject to a trade.

In what ways do you see Kobe’s role changing should he recuperate adequately from the Achilles injury and continue to play for a couple more seasons?

CC: I don’t think Kobe’s role is going to change that much when he comes back from his injury. He’s still going to be the scorer that he always has been; however, there are some things I want him to do to make his career last longer. First, I could see him working on his already good post-game, much like Michael Jordan did when he got older. Another thing would be for him to work on his outside game, that way he doesn’t have to barrel into the lane all game trying to score, but ending up injured. Lastly, I think it would really help his game to take on more of a pass-first role, like he did when Nash was out with his leg injury. We know he is capable of playing that role, it’s just a matter of if Kobe would accept it.
