From Belgium to Putnam City

By the time that Xavier played his high school ball they had returned to his father’s home state of Oklahoma. Xavier played for Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City and led them to a state championship in 2009. Also in 2009, Xavier was named to the McDonald’s All-American team, joining future NBA players DeMarcus Cousins, Lance Stephenson, Avery Bradley, Derrick Favors and current Lakers teammate, Ryan Kelly.

Xavier was highly touted out of high school and as expected, highly recruited. Xavier was ranked as the 6th best prospect and 2nd best shooting guard out of high school in the country by Scouts.com.

Xavier decided on continuing the legacy of his family and play for Kansas University along with his brother C.J. who transferred that same year from Memphis.
