Roscoe Smith is a power forward in a small forward’s body.  He has great size for the small forward spot at 6’8″ with a 7’1″ wingspan.  Even at small forward, he’s listed at just 200lbs.  He’s a tenacious rebounder and defender.  He prides his game on energy and the ability to finish in the paint.  Unfortunately he lacks the perimeter skills to develop into a tweener at the NBA level, but his tenacity is consistent on both ends of the floor and he thrives in the transition game.

LaQuinton Ross is another wing player similar to Kevin Murphy.  Both guys are the perimeter wing shooters that are expected to be the finishers of the play, not the creators.  Ross had a solid season for Ohio State.  His NBA success will be predicated on how great his 3-point percentages will be along with his defensive intensity.  Last year, he shot 35% behind the arc.  Defense wasn’t exactly a top priority.  Add to that a sub-par assist-to-turnover ratio, and his talent could be considered a notch short of being NBA level.  If he can be a three-and-D player, especially with a 7’1″ wingspan, he can earn a roster spot.
