1. Ed Davis could earn a starting position.
Ed Davis finished with 6 points on 3 of 4 shooting from the field, to go with 7 rebounds. Five of those rebounds were on the offensive glass. His footwork in the painted area is the best of the big men. This allows him to score in isolation situations and pick-and-roll situations with great efficiency.
Jordan Hill looked like Jordan Hill for the first few minutes of the third quarter, and that was it. Like Ed Davis, he showed a high amount of productivity in limited playing time. As a starter, he’s struggling to find the bounce to his step. His jumpshot is suspect. After halftime, he hit an 18′ jumpshot, blocked a David Lee layup attempt, and scored a tip-in off of a Kobe Bryant miss. That occurred in a 3:00 span. The rest of the game, his presence wasn’t as strongly felt.
