You look at Wesley Johnson and you can see the talent and potential, but the production is lacking far too often.
Johnson played 34 minutes yet took just 4 shots and failed to make an impact elsewhere on the court. Byron Scott designated Johnson as the team’s stopper but he has not been able to slow opposing stars enough to justify the big minutes.
Offensively, he’s a capable three point shooter, but he is reluctant to pull the trigger. If he isn’t getting a wide open three, there isn’t a place he’s going to get you points. There’s no slashing/cutting game, he’s not confident off the dribble, and he’s not creating transition opportunities for himself.
Simply put, he must improve.
