Game Grades: Jeremy Lin, Lakers hold on to beat Celtics
By Jacob Rude
MVP: There is only one person who can take home this award tonight, and it’s Jeremy Lin. This might be the closest Lakers fans (and Lin fans) will get to Linsanity again as he completely controlled and dominated segments of the game tonight. But the reason he was so effective was because he was aggressive, something he hasn’t been in far too many games this year.
LVP: Byron Scott, for a myriad of reasons. I don’t often name him least valuable player except for extenuating circumstances, and tonight had those. I thought there were two things Scott got completely wrong tonight: Ronnie Price playing as many (and even more) minutes as Jordan Clarkson tonight, especially down the stretch and not fouling on the final play of regulation.
Stat of the Night: 12-5. It says a lot about the Lakers’ resolve to collapse as they did late in the fourth quarter only to bounce back and score the fix six points of the overtime period and win the extra frame with the 12-5 margin. It comes with an extra sense of joy coming against the Celtics.
