In what may be one of the final line-up changes of the year for the Lakers, head coach Byron Scott announced that Jeremy Lin would be joining Jordan Clarkson in the starting line-up for the upcoming road trip.
The move also sees Ryan Kelly playing a far more comfortable role as a stretch four as opposed to the small forward role he’d been playing for much of the second half of the season.

However, the big news is the starting backcourt of Lin and Clarkson. Since being injected into the starting line-up after Kobe Bryant’s injury, Clarkson has shined. However, Lin has also played well in the second half of the season, including his 29-point performance in the Lakers’ win over the 76ers on Sunday evening.
With just 14 games left in this season, this could be one of the final major rotation moves of the season. However, with Scott, it’s hard telling. As a starter this year, Lin is averaging 11.6 points, 5.0 assists, and shooting 44.9% from the field in 29.6 minutes, all much higher than his averages off the bench.
With this line-up, the Lakers will have plenty of spacing on the court for driving lanes for both Lin and Clarkson, with the paint unclogged with a stretch four like Ryan Kelly and a mobile big man like Black.
