2. DeMarre Carroll – Small Forward
Similar to Green, Carroll is another “3 and D” player but with better athleticism. As a result, Carroll is a true defensive stopper for the Hawks and because of his size, he can easily check other teams 2s or 3s. He is not only solid at saying in front of his man, but is also proficient in getting steals, averaging 1.4 a game these past two seasons.
Carroll has also recently demonstrated above average 3 point shooting. These past two seasons Carroll has shot 36 and 39% respectively from 3 point range, and is currently on fire from 3 during this postseason, shooting 46%. But is two seasons of solid 3 point shooting enough to believe that Carroll will be able to maintain this for seasons to come? Its probably a bet worth making.
And, also similar to Green, Carroll will only be 29 years old next season, so a long term deal this offseason should be through the prime of his career. I would offer him the same deal mentioned above.
