Looks like the Lakers are not over the Hill. Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.
But, according to Mark Medina, the Lakers have reached out to the big man they whose team option they just declined.

It’s obviously all about price, here. Jordan Hill’s $9M was not something the Lakers could afford with targets like LaMarcus Aldridge and DeAndre Jordan to think about, but, if they cannot come to terms with those guys, Hill very well could make a return to the Lakers at better value. Boy, that’s depressing to think about.
Now, the second part of that tweet is important because if Hill does garner enough interest, that price might actually increase, making his return altogether unlikely.
I like Hill as a player and he seems like a good person, but, if the Lakers head into next year with him playing alongside Julius Randle instead of Aldridge or Jordan, after all this pre-free agency hype, I just… I can’t. I choose not to think of that.
