There’s not much to talk about when it comes to the Lakers and free agency, so let’s focus on something more positive.

The Lakers have a young core of talented players that will hopefully develop and help this team return to prominence. It’s going to take time, but it starts with them playing in the Las Vegas Summer League.
The Lakers will start the Summer League by playing the Minnesota Timberwolves on July 10th and now we know who will be representing the purple and gold in the desert. Baxter Holmes of ESPN tweeted out the official 2015 Summer League roster for the Lakers:
All three draft picks will be playing in Las Vegas, along with other players who spent time playing for the Lakers last season. Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle will be there, along with Tarik Black, Jabari Brown and Dwight Buycks.
The Lakers will also have Robert Upshaw on the roster, a big man who went un-drafted, but was considered a first round talent. Upshaw could find himself on the opening day roster if he plays well in Las Vegas. With the loss of Ed Davis to the Blazers, the Lakers are extremely thin at the center position.
This team is built to win the Summer League title. With D’Angelo Russell, Clarkson and Randle on the floor together, they should be tough to beat.
Unfortunately, this will be as exciting as Laker basketball will get, because the Lakers are in store for another difficult season after striking out in free agency yet again.
