There is no easy way to put it, it’s been a very disappointing off-season for the Los Angeles Lakers. The goal was for them to improve by adding a few nice pieces to the roster, but up until this point, the Lakers have done absolutely nothing.

It doesn’t make much sense. The Lakers have plenty of cap space, but they can’t seem to get anybody to take their money. They have a good core of young players, but that’s not going to result in many wins next season.
The Lakers were first to meet with LaMarcus Aldridge, but the meeting didn’t go very well. Now, it looks like the Lakers will get another shot. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Lakers will meet with Aldridge for a second time here in Los Angeles:

The Lakers are hopeful they will have better luck the second time around:
One source briefed on the Lakers second meeting with Aldridge told Yahoo Sports: "They want to see if they can get it right."

It’s been difficult to follow the Lakers during the free agency period. It feels like they were making all the wrong moves, but a second meeting with Aldridge does give this fan base a little hope. This doesn’t mean the Lakers are the favorites to land the All-Star big man, but at least they can get the pitch right this time.
No word on who will be part of the meeting, but this could be the last chance for the Lakers to improve the roster for next season. They cannot come away with nothing and the addition of Aldridge would get the Lakers going in the right direction.
You don’t often get second chances in life, but when you do, it’s vital they get it right.
