Things are finally, officially happening. Today, the Lakers had rookie Anthony Brown (34th pick out of Stanford) and Lou Williams put pen to paper on their respective deals.

Given all the craziness that transpired yesterday with DeAndre Jordan’s will-he, won’t-he signing with the Dallas Mavericks, it’s nice to see a return to normalcy. Though, if we’re being completely honest, yesterday was by far the most fun Twitter can possibly be.
The Lakers rarely – if ever – partake in the emoji battles, so anyone hoping for a small pen on their timelines will be sadly mistaken probably from here on out.
There was also reports from various avenues that the Lakers would make the Roy Hibbert deal by day’s end, plus the Brandon Bass signing. I can’t believe I’m saying this: But I think I might be excited about this Lakers team.
They won’t be a playoff contender, nor will they get even remotely close, but this will be a fun team and the organization as a whole is going somewhere. This time last year, we couldn’t say that. In that sense, this offseason was a win for Lakers fans.
