Lakers Rumors: Team Interested In Kevin Seraphin
By Alex Torres
After a free agency period where the Lakers missed out on all their top targets, there’s excitement in the air once again. The Lakers have a young core that has shown some promise in their first two Summer League games and they have a real shot at winning the whole thing.

All eyes are on the Summer League, but there’s still a few free agents left in the market. With the salary cap going up higher than expected, the Lakers have some room left to possibly make another move.
According to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports, the Lakers are interested in big man Kevin Seraphin:
Seraphin averaged 6.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game last season. The 6-foot-10 center was looking to become a starting center after spending the last several years as a back-up. He has not had much luck in the open market, but has drawn some interest from several teams.
Seraphin is a serviceable back-up center, but the Lakers are actually pretty deep at center. With Roy Hibbert slated to be the starter, the back-up role will likely go to Robert Sacre. However, the Lakers just signed Robert Upshaw, the un-drafted rookie who has first round talent, so there’s no room for Seraphin on the roster.
Upshaw could be another steal for the Lakers. Once he gets into shape and if he stays focused, he could be the center of the future.
