Lakers: Hotline Bling Parody ‘Hotline Byron’ Hits the Internet (VIDEO)

Lakers related parodies continue to hit the interwebs, this time it’s “Hotline Byron”

Lakers rookie, D’Angelo Russell, got the ball rolling Wednesday morning when he released a Kobe Bryant impersonation video and the internet’s next target is struggling coach Byron Scott.

YouTube user, Nick Angstadt, released his parody of Drake’s “Hotline Bling,” entitled “Hotline Byron” on Wednesday.

Sung to the tune of “Hotline Bling”:

"Byron stopped answering his cell phoneYou’d think he would cause I’m his bossStopped answering his cell phoneRight after the Philly loss"

Written from the perspective of Lakers’ general manager Mitch Kupchak, the parody revolves around the idea that Byron Scott is avoiding Kupchak’s calls because, “it can only mean one thing,” the end of Byron Scott.

From his infamous crossed arm pose, to the lack of playing time for D’Angelo Russell and now Julius Randle, nothing is off limits for this YouTuber who basically voices the sentiments of Lakers fans everywhere in a succinct three minute song.

"He just keeps on letting Kobe shootStanding with his arms crossed on the sidelinesRandle, Russ, and Nance, JC need playing timeInstead he sits’em down, on the bench, howCan he just keep on letting Kobe shoot?Started jackin’ threes, and now he’s playing moreWhile our second pick sits in the 4th quarterThe Lakers have never looked like this before"

Sometimes all you can do is laugh to keep yourself from crying, but with Wednesday night’s impressive loss, and now the parody videos rolling in, Lakers fans have a bit more to smile about.

The Lakers brass is expected to meet with Byron Scott when he returns from the road trip, so who knows, maybe the song is predictive of a future to come.
