Three years ago to date, Lakers’ superstar, Kobe Bryant, had the perfect response to Mark Cuban’s suggestion that LA amnesty him

With Kobe Bryant’s retirement tour approaching it’s final stop, it is a perfect time to remember the Black Mamba for all he’s done for the Lakers faithful. From his 81 point gem to the 62 points in three quarters, Kobe treated fans to a spectacle on nearly every night.

That said, one of his last dominant performances came in 2013 a few days after Dallas Mavericks’ owner, Mark Cuban, suggested that the Lakers use their amnesty provision on Kobe Bryant to free up their future.

While that could have resolved some of the issues the Lakers are currently facing, no GM in their right minds would ever amnesty the best player to ever do it since Michael Jordan.

Looking at the box score, Kobe filled it up in Dallas on February 24, 2013 shooting 13-of-21, 4-of-5 from downtown, also adding 12 rebounds and 7 assists.

However, after the game, it wasn’t Kobe’s performance, but his post-game Tweet that stole the show.

Kobe, who was relatively new to Twitter at the time — in February 2013 his Twitter account was only a month old — fired the Tweet heard round the world.

With just around 20 games left in Kobe Bryant’s storied career, fans everywhere are hopeful that Kobe has one more magic trick left in the bag. Whether or not that’s actually the case, fans will just have to wait and see.

Regardless, after taking the greatness of Kobe Bryant for granted year after year, it’s nice to just sit back and reflect on one of the greatest players ever to lace them up.
