With Stephen Curry close on his heels, it’s only right that we relive the moment Kobe Bryant broke the Lakers’ and NBA record for most threes made in a game
With the way the NBA is currently trending, it’s only a matter of time until someone breaks the record for most three pointers made in a game that Kobe Bryant set in 2003.
Already with two games with 11 threes made, two with 10 and four with 9, Stephen Curry added to his historically dominant three point barrage Saturday night notching 12 three pointers on 12-of-16 from downtown.
What is not mentioned in the box score is the fact that a staggering number of these makes were from beyond 25 feet, including a game winner from just a few feet inside half court.
With the “Splash Brothers,” close on the Black Mamba’s heels — Klay Thompson also has games with 11 and 10 made three pointers — now seems like the perfect time to remember the record everyone is chasing.

What must be mentioned first is the fact that, historically, Kobe Bryant is not a marksman from downtown, he actually only averages 33 percent on his career from three, with 38 percent being his high in 2002-2003.
That said, it hasn’t stopped Kobe from racking up the three point records, as he has a trio of games in which he hit nine treys from beyond the arc.
As mentioned previously, it is only a matter of time until someone breaks Kobe’s 13 year old record, and with back-to-back games with double digit makes from three, Stephen Curry looks like he just might do so before the conclusion of this season.
