Young Lakers Join Durant, Harden and Westbrook in Record Books
By Eric Yee
With each passing game, the future looks more and more bright for the Los Angeles Lakers
Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers built on their impressive performance against the Golden State Warriors, this time defeating the Orlando Magic, 107-98.
That said, the most impressive aspect of the game wasn’t the fact that they held their opponent to under 100 points, or that Jordan Clarkson made Evan Fournier look like he was wearing roller skates during a professional basketball game.
Rather, it was that the trio of Clarkson, D’Angelo Russell and Julius Randle combined for 74 points on 29-of-52 shooting.
More impressively, during the game the Magic’s announcers revealed another impressive statistic that has fan’s raving.
Fans have been desperate to see just what the Lakers’ young guard were capable of but to see them in the elite company of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden is astonishing.

As of late, the duo of Clarkson and Russell have been thriving, so to have Randle join in on the action is a reassuring sign for Lakers fans everywhere.
Interestingly enough, in the Lakers’ last two impressive performances, Kobe Bryant barely played and Lou Williams didn’t play at all. Directly correlated seems to be drastically improved defense, alongside more ball movement.
That said, if the Lakers keep winning games, they risk the possibility of losing their draft pick, but for some fans, that’s a price they are willing to pay.
