Lakers guard, Jordan Clarkson has a nickname idea for their current backcourt duo
The Golden State Warriors have the Splash Bros. The Minnesota Timberwolves have the Bounce Bros. And now the Los Angeles Lakers have the Swag Bros?
After their second straight win against the Orlando Magic Tuesday night, Lakers sophomore guard, Jordan Clarkson, voiced the idea to LA reporter Mark Medina.
Ironically, fans had already been calling the duo this for quite a while, which is likely where Clarkson got the idea from.
Personally, I would have preferred something a little more creative, as this is reminiscent of teams just throwing words in front of “city” — Rip City, Lob City, Buzz City, Loud City, etc. — and Lakers’ Twitter users seem to feel the same way.
Here are some of the more creative entries from around the interwebs:
More from Lake Show Life
- Lakers’ current projected closing lineup is sickening
- Lakers’ best-case starting 5 in 2022-23 without Kyrie Irving
- Should the Lakers make any of these ‘brutal’ proposed Westbrook trades?
- Mike James takes shots at Steph Curry in favor of Lakers’ LeBron James
- Ryen Russillo sums up Lakers’ Russell Westbrook problem perfectly
Whether or not the “Swag Bros” catches on, we will just have to wait and see, but for the sake of originality, I for one hope it doesn’t.
Your Los Angeles Lakers will look to build on their strong performances against the Cleveland Cavaliers Thursday night at STAPLES Center, a game in which hopefully Kobe Bryant will be participating in.
Seeing that it is his last match up with King James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, it is likely that he makes an appearance, if ever briefly.
