Ex-Lakers forward, Robert Horry, has been making waves in the media with his comments about his former team this week

Earlier this week, ex-Lakers forward, Robert Horry, was asked who he would rather build a team around, Kobe Bryant or Tim Duncan, and he had an interesting response: “Am I trying to win a championship; or am I trying to fill seats?”

Horry went on to back track a little bit saying, “Not saying that you can’t win them with Kobe, but Tim is that guy that’s going to be that rock, that consistency.”

The statement becomes that much more ironic when you realize how Horry only won two of his seven championships with his “rock” Tim Duncan and won three with Shaq, Kobe and the Lakers.

Further, when asked which coach he would rather play for, Gregg Popovich or Phil Jackson, considering his recent hard hate for the Lakers, the answer should come as no surprise.

"“I would rather play for Pop,” said Horry, who played for Popovich from 2003-08. “The thing that I’d say best about Pop is he would curse you out, (but) he treats everybody the same on the team, whether you’re a starter or the 12th man.“He knows how to leave things in the gym because he’s a true believer in family. And that’s what you are when you’re on a team — you’re family. You’ll get in arguments at times, but at the end of the day, I’ve still got nothing but love for you, and I’m going to let it go. A lot of coaches don’t know how to do that, and they’ll hold grudges for a long time.”"

Lastly, to end the interview, he was asked which compliments from his career stand out the most

"Magic Johnson called Horry one of the 10 greatest clutch players of all time after he made a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Lakers a 100-99 win over the Sacramento Kings in Game 4 of the 2002 Western Conference finals. But Horry said another compliment stood out to him more.“You know what really topped that,” Horry said, “‘Iceman’ (former Spurs great George Gervin) picked me as one of the players that he would choose to take the final shot. For me, Iceman picking me was better than what Magic said.”"

More from Lake Show Life

Sure, these could be Horry’s honest opinions on the subject but considering his recent rant about leaving the Lakers with “so much hatred for that team,” he seems like a bitter ex-girlfriend simply trying to exact that last bit of revenge for closure.

Currently, Horry frequents the Lakers’ Time Warner Cable show, which makes his grudge that much more amusing.

Don’t get me wrong, Robert Horry was a clutch, gritty player throughout his career, especially for the Lakers, but his comments seemingly aimed at stirring the pot leave much to be desired.

Regardless, I’ll try and remember him for this, as opposed to his recent comments. Man, Shaq sure missed a gimmie.

With that being said, Horry should stick to the basic commentary and leave the hot takes for Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless to nonsensically argue about.
