Monday morning, Lakers’ guard, Jordan Clarkson was on Power106’s “The Cruz Show” talking Luke Walton, life without Kobe and everything Lakers

Despite being a restricted free agent, it seems like Jordan Clarkson is fully confident that he will be part of the Los Angeles Lakers’ future going forward and for good reason.

Monday morning, Clarkson graced the popular southern California radio station, Power106, and he set the tone for the interview early saying, “I don’t really believe in pressure. I work really hard so…”

This nearly 20 minute interview gives fans a different side of Clarkson that they don’t normally get to see on court, or even in the short post game interviews they do after every contest.

For example, in regards to why he started playing basketball in the first place he revealed that he was running track but he was

"tired of running in the heat… you know Texas, it gets hot out there… I was tired of running around in a circle. I was fast but the sun was a little too hot so I was like ‘Man, I wanna play an indoor sport’."

Further, he dished on the Luke Walton hiring saying that Luke called him a few days after he got hired to talk to him, which is probably more than Byron Scott talked to him all last season.

"He’s young he wants to bring that same system that they’re playing up there… I think it’s dope, it fits us really well. We got a lot of guys that can do a lot of things — Julius, D’Angelo, Larry Nance, including myself — so I think it’s something we should be excited for"

Preach, JC. Preach!

When asked about landing the second overall pick, but more so, the trade rumors it brings and if it bothers him, JC was calm, cool and collected saying, “Nah, it’s all outside things. I can only control so many things, so, I stay on my work and that’s it man.”

Since he entered the league, I’ve always been a Clarkson supporter, but his answers Monday morning made him that much more appealing.
