Lakers’ draft prospect, Brandon Ingram had a private workout with the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday which reportedly went “very well”
Even though Duke product, Brandon Ingram scheduled a closed door workout with the Lakers on Thursday, the coverage afterwards was anything but private.
Surrounded by a plethora of cameras and reporters including Mark Medina, Mike Trudell and Shahan Ahmed, Ingram got a small taste of what is to come next season.
In regards to what “stood out” in Los Angeles, Ingram’s answer wasn’t what you’d expect. Hollywood is often known for its bright lights and standoffish locals, but Ingram seemed to think just the opposite.
Another interesting tidbit from the workout was the fact that he revealed George Gervin was actually one of his muses.
This is a great predictor of the type of player Ingram envisions himself as going forward. Young college products normally find inspiration from current players, so to hear him choose an old school player shows his appreciation for the game.

According to Mark Medina, Ingram said he gained 26 pounds in the last year alone, bulking up from 169 to 195 but more so that the key this offseason is to simply get bigger.
Ingram also said that he had a “great dinner with team execs last night,” which is also an encouraging sign. Sure, most of these answers are just about what you would expect a draft prospect to say when prompted accordingly, but it’s interesting nonetheless.
With each passing day, it appears that Brandon Ingram will be the Lakers pick, as opposed to LSU product, Ben Simmons and the Lakers will be getting a gem if that’s the case.
