Lakers Offseason: Jordan Clarkson Packing On Muscle This Summer
By Eric Yee
Standing 6’4, 180 pounds, Lakers’ guard, Jordan Clarkson has always been “skinny buff” but he’s looking to change that this offseason
If you have been following the Lakers at all this offseason, the one thing that has become a staple of news surrounding the team has been Jordan Clarkson’s incredible offseason workout routines and training regimen.
Though the majority of the young Lakers took the onus and got in the gym early in the summer, Clarkson was by far the player headlining the efforts.
With posts on Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter to let fans get a glimpse into his early morning basketball workouts that usually somehow extended into late nights, Clarkson’s work ethic is undeniable and his improvement on court speaks directly to that.
However, based on the newest pictures posted by the Los Angeles Lakers official Twitter account, it appears that his hard work in the weight room is definitely paying off as well.
Not only do his arms and shoulders look noticeably bigger, but his lats also appear to have opened up considerably.
This could be due to the angle the photo was taken at paired with the fact that Clarkson is shooting a free throw but this extra picture proves to debunk that myth.

Seeing how Clarkson revealed that his focus this offseason mostly revolved around increasing his three point percentage and improving on the defensive end of the floor, if getting stronger physically was an afterthought it’s exciting to see how much he’s grown in the aforementioned areas.
Clarkson is currently a restricted free agent but all signs seem to point to the fact that he’ll be returning to the Lakers next season especially when you consider general manager, Mitch Kupchak’s comments on the upcoming draft.
"We need a big. Jordan [Clarkson] is a free agent and we’d like to sign him. D’Angelo [Russell], we’re very high on, and we have Lou Williams. I think we’re more set in the backcourt than the frontcourt. Two days after the Lottery, that’s where we are. In six weeks, we’ll see."

Nearly four weeks removed from those comments, it seems that the Lakers are in a similar state of mind but all will be revealed come draft night, and more so, during the start of free agency.
