Lakers’ draft prospect, Kris Dunn is reportedly refusing to do “1-on-none workouts” with teams, the likes of what Brandon Ingram has recently done for both LA and the Philadelphia 76ers
For some reason, it is hard to get over the gut feeling that Providence product, Kris Dunn may actually turn out to be the best prospect from this draft class down the line. Even more so, it is frightening to think that he could fall to the Minnesota Timberwolves at fifth overall.
Reloaded with young stars, Zach LaVine, Andrew Wiggins, and future MVP candidate, Karl-Anthony Towns, all under the veteran guidance of Tom Thibodeau, the Timberpups will be full grown wolves in the blink of an eye. Add Dunn to the mix and the rest of the league knows who to watch out for in the near future.
But back to the lecture at hand, similar to what Penny Hardaway did before the 1993 NBA Draft, coercing the Orlando Magic into believing that he was indeed more valuable than Chris Webber, Kris Dunn is tired of being overlooked.

Per ESPN’s Chad Ford, Dunn is currently refusing to do “1-on-none workouts” as he wants to show why he’s better than the guys listed above him in the Mock Drafts.
"Kris Dunn hasn’t done a team workout with a little more than a week to go before the draft. He’s refusing to do 1-on-none workouts with teams. Will only workout for teams if it’s against Ben Simmons, Brandon Ingram or Jamal Murray source says. Dunn is currently projected in the 3 to 8 range. Sixers, Lakers, Celtics, Wolves, Pelicans and Kings have all shown interest in Dunn."
If you haven’t followed Dunn, this attitude that he’s the best player on any given day adds to what made me hop on his bandwagon in the first place. His maturity, experience and skill set paired with this belief in himself is something that can’t be taught and teams around the league know, and value, that.
While I would love to see Dunn somehow end up with the Purple and Gold, unless the Lakers pull off some Orlando Magic and flip the pick down while racking up additional assets, it doesn’t seem likely. But as always, stranger things have happened.

Who knows, maybe the Wolves will partake in an attempt to trade the second overall pick and additional pieces to the Chicago Bulls for Jimmy Butler? We’ll just have to wait and see.
