On a Summer League team loaded with young talent, the Los Angeles Lakers’ second round pick, Ivica Zubac stole the show with impressive play on both ends of the floor

Although most observers expected the young big man to be a raw project with decent upside, Ivica Zubac has already proved that he is much more polished than previously advertised. Despite being one of the youngest players in the draft, at only 19 years of age, and not having played consistently in the last year due to injury concerns, Zubac was still able to stand out among his peers during Summer League.

His strong play earned him praise from teammates and fans alike, with some even comparing him to elite big men like Marc Gasol. While it is obviously far too early to put him in that conversation, Zubac did demonstrate an extremely advanced game for a big man of his age and experience.

Fortunately for Lakers fans, the second round pick didn’t demonstrate any glaring weaknesses during his time at summer league. That being said, there are of course a few areas in which Zubac can improve that would help him become a truly elite prospect.
