Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson is the latest celebrity to get real involved in everyone’s favorite app, Pokemon GO

There are many things that NBA players do in the offseason. Some go on vacation, all of them train to varying degrees of intensity, and some just find ways to kill time when they don’t have obligations. Los Angeles Lakers third-year guard Jordan Clarkson would fall into the latter category.

Coming off of a fantastic year where he was often a bright spot in a dismal year for the Lakers, Clarkson is focused on basketball and improving with the young core of the team. When he’s not in the gym, though, there’s a good chance that Jordan Clarkson is just trying to catch ’em all like the rest of the world, playing Pokemon GO.

In a recent interview with Hypebeast, Clarkson was asked what apps and other things help him throughout the grind of an NBA season. Apparently he was so excited about his abilities as a Pokemon GO trainer that he started talking about his offseason app of choice, the aforementioned Pokemon (H/T to CBS Sports).

Clarkson said that his first focus is indeed the game of basketball and the Lakers, so don’t get too riled up too quickly if you’re annoyed that a pro athlete is playing on his phone. However, Clarkson hilarious added that he can often be seen walking around his neighborhood searching for Pokemon on the app.

Perhaps the funniest part of this aside was Clarkson mentioning that the reaction people most often get when they see him, a 6-5 guard for the Lakers, out on the street playing Pokemon GO, fans have to check to make sure it’s actually him doing that.

As long as Clarkson continues to flourish and live up to his newly signed four-year, $50 million contract, he can play whatever app he wants in whichever neighborhood he pleases. Go catch ’em all, JC.
