Lakers’ guard, Jordan Clarkson has shown that even with his most recent $50 million contract, he is still just a kid at heart
Back in May, Jordan Clarkson talked with Bleacher Reports’ Michael Pina where he revealed that one of the places he enjoys spending his downtime is Six Flags Magic Mountain, a popular theme park about an hour from Downtown LA.
However, dissimilar to former teammate Kobe Bryant, who skips all the lines and draws crowds everywhere he goes when he frequents Disneyland, Clarkson said that he keeps it low key and waits in the general lines, just like everybody else.
Similar to front court pal Larry Nance Jr, one of the reasons fans tend to gravitate towards Clarkson is for this reason exactly, the idea that the money and fame has yet to go to his head, and doesn’t look to do so anytime soon.
Visiting the OC Fair in Costa Mesa on closing day, Clarkson checked in on Instagram and Snapchat throughout the night, posting this picture atop the Rainbow Slides at the fairgrounds so aptly topped off with the caption “kids.”

One thing we as fans, myself included, often fail to realize is that many of the players on the Lakers are just that, kids. Clarkson is just 24 years old, D’Angelo Russell is 20, Julius Randle 21, Brandon Ingram 18.
Do you recall what you were doing when you were 18-24? The amount of responsibility that is suddenly thrust into NBA player’s hands almost overnight is astonishing to think about.
With that in mind, it’s good to see that the Lakers have a young core that is trying their best to stay grounded and live “normal” lives for the most part.

Clarkson also posted a picture of him at the Lakers’ Practice Facility in El Segundo the very next morning, as if to reassure fans that fun doesn’t interfere with business at the end of the day.
