The Los Angeles Lakers young core is fully prepared to make next year their breakout season
On Monday evening, Shams Charania and The Vertical reported that the Los Angeles Lakers would be signing Brandon Ingram‘s rookie deal the following day and that is exactly what happened early Tuesday morning.
Rocking a clean white Adidas tee, the Lakers were quick to publicize the news, posting a picture of Ingram signing his rookie contract on their official site, as well as all over social media.

“Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released,” but assuming it falls in line with the other rookie scale contracts, it is likely in the $5-6 million range per season. Though some were nervous about why the team was waiting so long to sign their second overall pick, the signing reaffirms exactly what the organization promised, that they would sign Ingram later in order to keep cap space free to pursue other deals, which is exactly what they did with Yi Jianilian.
The most impressive part about his signing on Tuesday, however, wasn’t even the actual signing, rather the fact that Ingram was immediately seen in the weight room lifting with his teammates shortly after.
Following in teammate Jordan Clarkson‘s footsteps, who did something similar upon signing his $50 million contract, Ingram continues to say all of the right things and make all of the right moves.

In addition to Clarkson, Ingram was also joined by fellow rookie Ivica Zubac and vets Julius Randle, Tarik Black and D’Angelo Russell who have all grown visibly stronger since the season’s end.

As has become so common with the Purple and Gold, the team will have more than enough motivation to prove their doubters wrong and look to be set on doing just that.
