Laker fans have been freaking out during the teams’ recent win streak as each win takes them closer to losing their draft pick.

The Lakers four-game winning streak has been a major talking point due to the teams draft situation. If the pick falls out of the top three it goes to the 76ers. The Lakers have been in a battle of the tanks with Phoenix as both are fighting for the second worse record.

Because of that fans had certainly been embracing the tank but now it’s hard to choose between rooting for the team to win games that don’t mean anything and potentially losing their draft pick, or losing and getting closer to keeping it.

To make matters worse the Suns have actually been winning of late which would give the Lakers a chance to catch up in the loss column. The only “problem” is that Los Angeles can’t seem to lose of late.

If the Lakers manage to keep their draft pick it could be huge for the franchise. Drafting a guy like Lonzo Ball to run the point alongside Russell Randle and Ingram would make the game so much easier for everyone.

Ball has the ability to push the call and makes the game easier for his teammates. He would be a perfect fit in Luke Walton’s offense and could definitely help Russell Randle and Ingram get some easy points in transition and the halfcourt offense.

That being said, the recent winning streak shows that the pick isn’t completely necessary. The team looks in good shape due to the young guys stepping up.

Post All-Star break we’ve seen Clarkson, Ingram, Randle, Ennis, and Russell all set career highs in points. That just goes to show none of these guys are near their ceiling.

In particular, Ingram’s play and aggressiveness has been a major plus. He’s been driving, taking the contact, and scoring consistently. He’s also managed to pick up his field goal percentage while increasing his points per game.

The most important sign that things are going to be okay in Laker Land pick or no pick is the winning streak! This team has shown it can compete with any team when they want to and that they don’t care much for tanking.
