Now officially enjoying his offseason, Indiana Pacers All-Star Paul George was spotted at Disneyland and was continuously begged to join the Los Angeles Lakers by fans.
After an early exit from the playoffs, thanks to a sweep from LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Paul George-to-the-Lakers rumors have been running rampant.
There is no secret that there is a mutual interest between L.A. and George, interest that Magic Johnson made clear on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, and George has apparently always been open about in the Pacers’ locker room.
The question then is not whether both sides are eyeing each other, but if PG13 joining the Lakers would be beneficial for both sides.
George is not a free agent until 2018, which means L.A. would have to trade for him.
The Lakers have already shown an unwillingness to part with most of their young talent, but if George is indeed “hell bent” on returning home to southern California, the Lakers may be willing to part ways with some of their budding talent to get him.
If you ask L.A. Laker fans, it’s a no-brainer. While George spent some off time at Disneyland recently, he was being recruited by hopeful Laker fans who were trying desperately to woo him to come to L.A.

Had George not been from L.A., seeing him at a Disneyland could be a sign as to how much he truly intends to play for the purple and gold. However, since George is a SoCal native, it’s not a shock that in the offseason he would be spending time in SoCal and would even make a trip to Disneyland.
With that being said, George’s appearance at an L.A.-based theme park isn’t some grand sign that he’s officially going to take the plunge and join the Lakers. And even if he was hinting at joining the Lakeshow and somehow trolling the Pacers, the Lakers would still have to show the desire to make room for him by unloading some potential all-stars currently on the roster.
But if it were just up to the L.A. fans, PG13 is wanted as a Laker. So if George needs any extra motivation to “come home,” he’s already got a built-in fan base itching for his arrival. Will the fans’ dreams of Paul George come true? We’ll just have to wait and see.
But most fans seem to be hoping George in a Laker jersey is no fairy tale.
