Houston Shooting Guard, Damyean Dotson

Daymean Dotson is arguably the most intriguing prospect of the six the Lakers are bringing in. There is a lot to like about him as a prospect, but he does come with some red flags as well.

On the positive side, Dotson is an outstanding three-point shooter. He led the AAC in three-point shooting, making 44.1 percent. Making shots is what he does best, as he shot 50.6 percent to lead the AAC the previous season. As a senior, Dotson averaged 17.6 points per game, which ranked fifth in the conference.

In addition to his lights out shooting, Dotson rebounds very well for his position. He averaged 6.8 rebounds per game as a junior, and 6.9 as a senior. He uses his athleticism to his advantage there.

His athleticism could also help make him into the prototypical three-and-d player. But, he has some knocks against him. There have been off-court issues, and he is already 23-years old. If he lands in the right spot, he could turn into a very useful player for an NBA team.

The Lakers could really use a knockdown shooter; they ranked 22nd in the NBA this season in three-point shooting percentage, making only 34.6 percent. Dotson would not only help them there but could help them shore up their performance on the defensive end of the court as well.
