The 2017 NBA Draft is here! For all the information about the Los Angeles Lakers and other NBA teams, follow our live tracker below.
The Los Angeles Lakers will be entering the 2017 NBA Draft as one of the teams to watch. With three picks in the first round, the Lakers can make a lot of possible moves to shake this draft up.
Since the Philadelphia 76ers will be taking Markelle Fultz with the first overall pick after they acquired it from the Boston Celtics, the Lakers will have their pick of all the prospects after Fultz.
After the Lakers traded D’Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets, it became pretty clear that they will be using the second overall pick on Lonzo Ball. With Russell gone, the Lakers now have a need for a point guard, and Ball is the best available.
In addition to having the second overall pick, the Lakers also have two picks late in the first round that they might use to try and trade for Paul George. As one of the best players in the NBA, George has drawn a lot of interest from teams, including the Lakers.
In addition to the possibility of trades, this has been considered to be one of the best draft classes in a while. With Fultz and Ball at the top, there are some great prospects that will be going in the rest of the top 10 after them. Also, in a deep draft, expect to see some talent in the later part of the first round as well. As always, their will be a ton of trades during the draft.
