Four reasons the Los Angeles Lakers should select Lonzo Ball with the second pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
The Los Angeles Lakers have had a busy draft day before the 2017 NBA Draft has begun. The Lakers will have a trade that will become official tonight with the Brooklyn Nets.
The Lakers are trading D’Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov to the Nets in exchange for Brook Lopez and the 27th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. The trade riled up the Lakers fan base as mixed reactions ensued after news of the deal broke.
While some people did not like the trade, the move clears a path in the Lakers backcourt. With Russell on his way to Brooklyn, the Lakers now have an opening at point guard. That spot can quickly be filled with the second overall pick in the draft.
