Recent Laker rumors have been about Paul George already attempting to recruit some players to join him in L.A. However, one player has shot those rumors down.

With NBA Free Agency getting underway soon, there has been a lot of Lakers rumors during this busy time in the offseason.

More than likely, the Lakers won’t be making any big splashes in free agency this offseason, as they appear to be more focused on the class next year. With some great players likely being available, this appears to be the right move for Los Angeles.

One of the players that they would love to have is Paul George. Before and during the NBA Draft, there were a ton of rumors surrounding Paul George. After he stated his desire to leave Indiana after next season, the Pacers began the process of trying to trade him.

George also said that he would prefer to play for the Los Angeles Lakers, which somewhat hurt the Pacers in negotiations with other teams. Even though no trade has been made with the Lakers, there were reports that George was reaching out to other NBA players about joining him in Los Angeles.

One of the players that George reportedly reached out to was Klay Thompson. As a two-time NBA Champion, and one of the best two-way guards in the NBA, Thompson would be a great fit with George.

However, after his recent China tour, Thompson has shot down the rumors that he has been in contact with George.

It would certainly take a lot of convincing to make Thompson want to leave the Golden State Warriors. With a great core including himself, the Warriors are poised to become a dynasty in the NBA.

However, Thompson may want an increased role in the future, and that would be hard to do with Curry and Durant on the team. Time will tell if this combo will eventually happen in Los Angeles, but it will certainly be in the back of people’s minds if they do acquire George.
