Travis Wear; Power Forward

Travis Wear has not appeared in an NBA game since the 2014-15 season with the New York Knicks when he played in 51 games. He almost made the Lakers last season before being waived after the preseason. Wear instead played for their G-League affiliate, where he showed the potential to be a stretch-4.

A stretch-4 is the one thing the Lakers roster is currently lacking. Wear could have the inside track to a roster spot since he was with the team last year, and has shown he could be capable of doing it. With the D-Fenders last season, Wear averaged 12.7 points and 7.2 rebounds in only 25.4 minutes per game.

Wear only made 34.2 percent of his three-point attempts, a number the Lakers would like to see come up. Wear could be competing against Kuzma, who the Lakers have hopes of becoming a stretch-4 as well.

Wear will have to play well in the Summer League to get another invite to training camp. The Lakers are a much deeper team this year around, especially in the front court, where two draft picks were invested. Power forward is arguably the Lakers deepest position right now, so making the team at that position will not be easy.
