Archie Goodwin
Archie Goodwin was selected with the 29th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder. Goodwin never appeared in a game for the Thunder, beginning his career with the Phoenix Suns. Unfortunately for Goodwin, he was unable to gain any traction in Phoenix as he was released after three seasons.
Goodwin was barely seen in the NBA last season before latching on with the Nets for 13 games at the end of the season. Goodwin played pretty well with the Nets and parlayed that into another look this season. So far so good for Goodwin who has been one of the Nets best performers in Las Vegas.
Goodwin is averaging 11.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists (which is tied for the team lead), and a surprising 1.2 blocks per game. Goodwin is supremely athletic but was very raw coming out of Kentucky. He seems to have finally started putting things together now that he has been in the NBA for four seasons.
Kenny Atkinson is a very good coach for point guards and Goodwin will benefit from working with him. Last season and thus far in the summer, he has looked good.
He will be someone the Lakers will have their hand’s full stopping. He does a little bit of everything as he can get to the rim and create for himself and teammates. Goodwin is very athletic and watching him matchup with Lonzo Ball will be fun.
