Former Los Angeles Lakers great, Kobe Bryant, was called one of the most overrated players in NBA history by Robin Lundberg. Do you agree?

Kobe Bryant has found himself in the news in recent days. It isn’t for anything bad, but the former Los Angeles Lakers great made it known that he is enjoying retirement, maybe more than anyone would have guessed.

Bryant shared a photo of himself on Instagram showing off what many people are calling his dad bod. His dad bod is something that many people would like to have as their regular body. Byrant hashtagged the photo with #MambaThick and #MambaBeats. Bryant made the post saying give him 30 days.

Bryant would delete that photo and share another one with just a black screen. He captioned it simply with Mamba Mode #Blackout.

Bryant’s competitive desire has never been questioned. Whatever the 30-day challenge that he is about to embark on, you know he will do it to the fullest of his abilities. Today, Bryant found his name popping back up, but not in a way that you would expect.

More from Lakers News

Earlier today, Robin Lundberg made a two-minute video for Sports Illustrated. He provides a hot take and finishes the show with don’t @ me, a phrase that has become popular on social media. For today’s hot take, Lundberg said something that will peeve many basketball fans, Lakers fans specifically.

In the video today, Lundberg decided to share his hot take of Bryant being one of the most overrated players in the history of the NBA. With the NBA in their slowest month of the year, this is something that constitutes as big news in August.

Here is the two-minute video from Sports Illustrated’s Facebook page.

Bryant has heard his name come up a lot this week in discussions about all-time ranks. Michael Jordan said earlier this week that Bryant would rank above someone such as LeBron James. His reasoning? Five is better than three.

Jordan believes that Bryant should rank higher than James on the all-time list because he has more success winning championships. That is one part of the equation, but it is fair to say that Lundberg does not feel the same way.

Being labeled as one of the most overrated players of all-time seems a bit steep. Sure Bryant has his faults. He is one of the reasons why the Lakers are in the position they are now because of how much they had to pay him as he aged. Bryant was a tough person to work with on the court, but he is probably the closest thing we have seen to Jordan as a player.

Despite some of those faults, Bryant is one of the greatest players we have ever seen take the court. He was dominant at times in his career and a nightmare for opponents to game plan against. The negatives that Lundberg mentioned come nowhere near to outweighing the positives that he brought both on and off the court.
