The Los Angeles Lakers host the Detroit Pistons at the STAPLES Center on October 31st, 2017. Here is all the information you need to watch the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers are hosting the Detroit Pistons for their lone visit to the STAPLES Center this season. This will be a tougher than anticipated game for the Lakers, as the Pistons are coming into the game on a roll.
Detroit enters the game tied for first place in the Eastern Conference with the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic, owners of 5-2 records. They are currently riding a three-game winning streak and wrap up their west coast trip tonight. The Pistons won the first two games of their trip against the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors.
The Lakers, on the other hand, come into the game on a two-game losing streak. Los Angeles struggled against the Toronto Raptors and Utah Jazz over the weekend, losing the back-to-back set as their offense was stuck in neutral.
Surprisingly, it has been the Lakers offense that has been a disappointment thus far this season. The Lakers have been unable to find their stroke from deep, leading to some struggles offensively. Getting on track against the Pistons will not be an easy task, as they are eighth in the NBA in points allowed per game.

Getting Brook Lopez on track would go a long way for the Lakers. Lopez has not yet had the impact the Lakers were hoping he would, as he is playing under 24 minutes per game. Lopez is averaging only 12.3 points per game, as his shot has not yet gotten going from anywhere; he is shooting 38.8 percent from the field and 25 percent from three-point land.
The Lakers defense has been improved thus far, but they will have their hands full with the Pistons. Tobias Harris leads the team in scoring, averaging 20.9 points per game. He is not the only scoring threat that Detroit has, as seven different players average at least 8.0 points per game.
The Lakers will have a difficult task ahead of them to knock off the Pistons. Will they be able to snap their losing streak at two games, or will the Pistons extend their two-game winning streak?
We will have to tune in and find out! Here is all the information you will need to watch the Lakers and Pistons face off tonight at the STAPLES Center.
