Los Angeles Lakers vs Portland Trail Blazers recap and highlights from matchup on November 3rd, 2017.
The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a tough loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night. Once again the Lakers were in an early hole but did not give up as they battled right to the end.
Los Angeles overcame an 18-point deficit in the first half, even taking the lead at one point in the fourth quarter. The Trail Blazers, who have suffered multiple losses in the waning seconds of the game, did not want to suffer another one.
Damian Lillard would not let the Trail Blazers suffer another tough loss, as he knocked down the game-winning three-pointer with 0.7 seconds remaining in the game. It was a difficult shot, as Lillard made it over an outstretched Brandon Ingram.
Lillard had a strong game for Portland, as he poured in a game-high 32 points. He made a living at the foul line, making all 14 of his free throws to help Portland edge out the Lakers. He also added five assists and six rebounds.

Lillard’s backcourt mate, C.J. McCollum, also had a strong game scoring 22 points. In the middle, Jusuf Nurkic proved to be a difference maker as well. Nurkic scored a season-high 28 points in only 29 minutes of play. Nurkic was slightly hampered by foul trouble but dominated when on the court.
Luckily for the Lakers, Brook Lopez was up for the challenge. Lopez had his best game as a Laker, leading the team with 27 points in 29 minutes. The second highest scorer for the Lakers came off the bench, as Kyle Kuzma scored a career-high 22 points as he continues to provide a scoring punch for the Lakers second unit.
Los Angeles had three more players reach double-figures, as Brandon Ingram, Jordan Clarkson and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope all scored 14 points. Lonzo Ball was held scoreless, as he attempted only two shots in the game.
The biggest loss in this game for the Lakers was Larry Nance Jr. Nance Jr. suffered a fracture to his left hand, which forced him from tonight’s game. He will more than likely miss some time, which is a big blow to a Lakers team that was finally beginning to gain some traction and lock down a rotation.
