The Los Angeles Lakers picked up an impressive victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night. Check out our recap and highlights from the game.

Sunday night was a good night for the Los Angeles Lakers. They were able to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies at the STAPLES Center 107-102 before embarking on their first road trip of the season.

The Lakers were able to build a huge lead against Memphis on the back of a strong third quarter. Los Angeles went ahead by as many as 22 points in the third quarter, but Memphis did not back down. They went on a furious comeback in the fourth quarter, cutting the lead to as few as three points.

That would be as close as they got, as the Lakers were able to hang on for the victory. This was a good gut-check game for a young Lakers squad who saw a big lead disappear but did not panic.

The Lakers received strong contributions across the board once again. Brook Lopez was the leading man offensively, scoring 21 points. He was joined by five other Lakers who scored in double-figures, an impressive showing against one of the better defensive teams in the NBA.

Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson all scored in double-figures. It was a well-rounded attack from the Lakers, as Ingram joined Lopez breaking the 20-point plateau. For the second consecutive game, Kuzma recorded a double-double, pulling down a team-high 12 rebounds to go with his 13 points.

Overall, the Lakers shot an impressive 47.1 percent from the field. The three-point shooting was still underwhelming, as they made 33.3 percent from deep. A large portion of those three-point deficiencies was from Lonzo Ball.

Ball was more aggressive offensively tonight as he attempted 13 shots, eight from three-point range. Unfortunately, he didn’t find much success, going 3-of-13 overall and 1-of-8 from deep.

However, Ball did help in other ways. He got teammates involved offensively, handing out nine assists. He also pulled down five rebounds and had only two turnovers in 35 minutes.

For Memphis, Tyreke Evans and Mike Conley led the way with 26 and 23 points respectively. Marc Gasol stuffed the stat sheet, scoring 15 points with 10 rebounds and seven assists.
