OAKLAND, CA - NOVEMBER 11: Joel Embiid

With a game coming up against the Philadelphia 76ers in a few days, recent Lakers news has been about how Joel Embiid feels about Lonzo Ball.

Recent Lakers news might come to the surprise of some people, as Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers recently shocked many when he said that he doesn’t have any hard feelings towards Lonzo Ball.

Embiid is certainly a player that likes to have fun and isn’t afraid to get into some spats with other players. During the offseason, Embiid took some shots at Lonzo Ball and his father. This led many to believe that Embiid truly didn’t like Ball.

As expected, LaVar Ball went right back at Embiid to help stick up for his son. With the two going back and forth, there appeared to be some bad blood.

However, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Recently Embiid spoke with Ramon Shelburne about Ball.

"“I love Lonzo,” Embiid told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. “The whole situation with them, I think it’s just fun. I love what he’s doing, especially with his own shoe. He’s staking his own place. People think I hate him, but I love him.”"

Wednesday night will surely be a fun matchup between the 76ers and the Lakers, as it will be two teams with very bright futures squaring off for the first time. Like the Lakers, the 76ers are off to a fairly good start this season, as their young talent has been on display.

Even though first overall pick, Markelle Fultz, is injured, both Embiid and Ben Simmons are playing very well this season. Since Simmons missed his first season, he is looking like the early favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award. Like Simmons, Embiid is also having a great season so far for the 76ers. Luckily for Philadelphia, both have been able to stay healthy.

As long as both teams can stay healthy, this could definitely become a bit of a rivalry with all of the talent on both sides. Ball is recently coming off being the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double and he might look to have another big game against the 76ers.
