After a four-day break, the Los Angeles Lakers continue their losing ways as they lose to the Los Angeles Clippers 120-115.
Heading into last night’s matchup, the Los Angeles Lakers found themselves in a prime position as they were half a game away from the eighth seed in the Western Conference. Additionally, the team was back at full strength with the return of Larry Nance Jr.
After a loss to the Sacramento Kings, the Lakers’ woes continued for November. With a record of 5-7 for the month and 8-11 overall, the team looked to win against the Los Angeles Clippers to find their way back towards .500 and a playoff spot. Although this seemed possible, they had a four-game losing streak against the Clips heading into the matchup.
Similarly, the Los Angeles Clippers were also in the hunt for a playoff spot. With a record of 7-11, the team was one game away from the eighth seed going into the game. Moreover, they were in desperate need of a win as they had nine straight losses to start the month.
The Clippers ended up winning the game and extending their win streak against the Lakers to five. Lou Williams stole the show for the Clips as he scored a season-high 42 points on 57.1 percent shooting from the field. As for the Lakers, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the way with 29 points, six rebounds, and three steals.
The Lakers next game is on Wednesday when the reigning champion Golden State Warriors visit STAPLES Center. Before that game, however, let’s take a look at some takeaways from last night’s loss.
