The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors have a very exciting game Wednesday night at the STAPLES Center with the Warriors escaping with a close victory.

The Los Angeles Lakers gave the Golden State Warriors everything they could handle on Wednesday night. The Lakers pushed the Warriors to overtime but eventually lost 127-123. It was a very exciting game and the Lakers had a chance to steal the win.

With five seconds remaining in regulation, the Lakers secured the ball and had a shot to win. Brandon Ingram drove to the basket but came up just short, forcing the game into overtime.

Ingram may have come up short at the buzzer, but he was a big reason for the Lakers being in the game. Ingram scored a career-high 32 points. His confidence was sky high as he was going at some of the best defenders in the NBA in Kevin Durant and Draymond Green with no fear.

In addition to Ingram, the Lakers had three other players break the 20-point plateau. Jordan Clarkson and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope each scored 21, while Julius Randle scored 20. All eyes were on Lonzo Ball tonight, and he more than held his own against Stephen Curry.

Ball had a very strong game. He scored 15 points, shooting 5-of-12 from the field and 3-of-7 from deep. He had a nice scoring burst in the third quarter, scoring eight consecutive points before being forced to the sideline because of a cut on his eyebrow.

Prior to overtime, a legitimate argument could have been made that Ball was actually outplaying Stephen Curry. This was a matchup fans were waiting for and they did not leave disappointed.

Curry struggled with his shot throughout the night, but he got things going in overtime to help put the Lakers away. Curry gave the Warriors a quick six-point lead in overtime, knocking down two 3-pointers on the first two Warriors possessions of the extra session.

Curry didn’t have a great shooting night before overtime, as he made all three of his shot attempts in overtime. He scored 13 of his 28 points in overtime.

Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green all had big games as well. Durant led the way with 29 points. Thompson scored 20 of his own. Green nearly triple-doubled, scoring 15 points with 11 rebounds and nine assists. Green also helped seal the game for the Warriors with an offensive rebound on Curry’s missed free throw in overtime.
