The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday night. Check out our recap and highlights of the game!

The Los Angeles Lakers road trip ended on a low note on Thursday night. The Lakers lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 121-112. It is the second consecutive loss for the Laker, who end their road trip with a 2-2 record.

The Lakers gave everything they had tonight, but LeBron James and company proved to be too much. James registered a triple-double, his fourth of the season and 59th in his career. He scored 25 points with 12 rebounds and 12 assists. James also performed defensively with two blocks and two steals.

While James dominated, he didn’t lead the Cavaliers in scoring. That honor went to Kevin Love. Love was able to get whatever he wanted en route to 28 points. He also had a double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds.

The Lakers defense has been solid throughout the season but did not perform tonight against the Cavaliers. Cleveland shot 50 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from the 3-point line. Six Cavaliers scored in double-figures.

The 3-point line is where the difference was made tonight. While the Cavaliers made 15, the Lakers only made nine, connecting on 29 percent of their 3-point attempts. On the interior, the Lakers were having their way.

Cleveland had no answer for the Lakers on the inside. However, it is difficult to keep up when you are making 2-pointers and your opponent is making 3-pointers.

Brandon Ingram led the way for the Lakers, bouncing back in a big way from his poor performance against the New York Knicks. Ingram scored 26 points with six rebounds and six assists. Off the bench, Kyle Kuzma added 20 points of his own.

All eyes were on Lonzo Ball heading into this game. Along with Ingram, he is believed to be a key piece in recruiting this offseason. Like Ingram, Ball had a great audition.

Ball stuffed the stat sheet, scoring 13 points with 11 assists and eight rebounds. He also added two steals for good measure.

Josh Hart was a surprise starter, replacing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who was out for personal reasons tonight. Hart played well in the spot start, scoring 11 points with 10 rebounds. He showed a lot of the same skills that he showed at Villanova in college.

A 2-2 road trip isn’t horrible, but it isn’t great as the Lakers ended it with two losses. Things won’t get any easier upon their return to the west coast. The Lakers will host the Golden State Warriors at the STAPLES Center on Monday night.
