The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Atlanta Hawks at STAPLES Center on Sunday night. Check out our recap and highlights of the game!

The Los Angeles Lakers losing streak is finally over! The Lakers were able to snap their nine-game losing streak on Sunday evening, defeating the Atlanta Hawks 132-113. The Hawks, who are one of only two teams with a worse record than the Lakers, was exactly what the doctor ordered.

The victory also snapped another losing streak for the Lakers. Los Angeles had lost nine consecutive games at the STAPLES Center, dating back to November 21st before Thanksgiving. This victory was a long time coming for the team and their fans and was much needed.

The Lakers received excellent contributions across the board. It was a total team effort, as it is the 132 points scored are the most the Lakers have scored in regulation. It is the second time they reached that mark this season. The first time was against the Phoenix Suns in the second game of the season.

Leading the way for Los Angeles was Brandon Ingram. Ingram scored an extremely efficient 20 points, needing only seven shots to do so. He made six of them, connecting on both his 3-point attempts and knocking down 6-of-7 free throws. Ingram also added seven assists.

In addition to Ingram, seven other Lakers scored in double-figures. In the starting lineup, Lonzo Ball, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Julius Randle hit double digits. Off the bench, Jordan Clarkson led the way with 18, while Josh Hart, Kyle Kuzma and Larry Nance Jr. all scored in double figures as well.

As a team, the Lakers shot 55.8 percent from the field. They knocked down 44.4 percent of their 3-pointers and 80 percent from the foul line. It is one of the best overall shooting nights the Lakers have had all season as they were knocking down shots from all over the court.

While 113 points allowed isn’t great, it was an improvement from the Lakers on that end of the court. Atlanta shot 43.6 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from deep. The Lakers opened up a big lead early on and were able to ride that momentum to the end.

For the Hawks, Dennis Schroder led the way. He scored a game-high 27 points, as the Lakers didn’t have much an answer for the quick, athletic point guard.
