The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. Check out our recap and highlights of the victory!
The Los Angeles Lakers are on a winning streak! After defeating the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night, the Lakers defeated the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night, 99-86, for their second consecutive victory.
It was a game of runs tonight. The Lakers opened a big one up in the first quarter, going on a 19-0 run. The Kings didn’t get rattled after that, fighting back throughout the remainder of the first half. By halftime, the Kings had momentum as they cut the lead down to one point.
It looked like they would ride that momentum as the Kings opened the second half on a 12-3 run. Now it was the Lakers turn to respond, and they did just that. After the Kings went up by eight points, 64-56, the Lakers ripped off another impressive run, outscoring the Kings 28-10 the remainder of the quarter.
They nursed that lead throughout the fourth quarter, leading to the victory. Tonight, it was the defensive end where the Lakers succeeded.

Los Angeles held Sacramento to 34.5 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from the 3-point line. Bogdan Bogdanovic was the only player that provided consistent offense for the Kings, as he scored 19 points off the bench.
While Sacramento struggled on offense, the Lakers found some success. Los Angeles shot 48.1 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from deep. Julius Randle led the way with 22 points, 14 rebounds and six assists in just 30 minutes.
In total, the Lakers had five players in double figures, with Brandon Ingram, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Brook Lopez and Kyle Kuzma also joining Randle.
One matchup fans had their eyes on was the one between rookie point guard Lonzo Ball and De’Aaron Fox. In college Ball and Fox developed a bit of a rivalry, with their respective schools, UCLA and Kentucky, splitting the two matchups. This was the first time the two squared off since their NCAA Tournament meeting, and Ball got the upper hand.
Ball didn’t shoot well, making 2-of-10 and 1-of-7 from deep for only five points, but stuffed the stat sheet elsewhere. He pulled down 11 rebounds and handed out 11 assists, giving him his ninth double-double of the season. Ball also added five steals and one block, finishing the game with a plus/minus of +33.
Fox, on the other hand, was -26 in the game. He did score 15 points, but did little else for the Kings, handing out three assists with four steals and one rebound.
