Los Angeles Lakers vs Indiana Pacers: How to watch NBA online
The Los Angeles Lakers host the Indiana Pacers on Friday, January 19th, 2018. Here is all the information you need to watch or listen to the game!
The Los Angeles Lakers are back at home for another homestand. After going 1-2 on their road trip, the Lakers are returning to the STAPLES Center on Friday night. The Lakers will be hosting the Indiana Pacers in the first game of their three-game homestand.
The Pacers are coming into tonight’s game playing well despite losing Thursday night to the Portland Trail Blazers. Prior to that, they had a three-game winning streak and won five of their last six games.
The scheduling advantage is the only thing the Lakers have working in their favor heading into this matchup. While the Pacers are going to be without center Myles Turner, their injury outlook is much more positive than the Lakers. The only other regular that is in danger of missing the game is Lance Stephenson, who has an illness.
The Lakers, on the other hand, could be without four regulars. Their starting backcourt, rookie point guard Lonzo Ball and shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, have both been ruled out. Small forward Brandon Ingram and power forward Kyle Kuzma is questionable with an ankle injury and finger injury respectively.

That is a lot of firepower on the injury report for the Lakers. That injury report includes their three leading scorers, leading rebounder and three of their four leading assist men.
All of those players bring certain qualities to the court that the Lakers will miss. Ball is arguably the biggest loss, as we have seen how poorly the Lakers play without him.
In eight games without Ball this season, the Lakers are 0-8. A majority of those games have been ugly. The offense doesn’t flow without Ball, and their defense falters as well. While Ball isn’t regarded as a strong defender, the numbers say otherwise when comparing Ball being on the court and off the court.
With all those players hampered, the Lakers are going to need other players to step up. In the backcourt, Tyler Ennis and Josh Hart will presumably soak up most of the minutes. Alex Caruso and Gary Payton II could also get some minutes as well.
Whatever Luke Walton decides to do, the Lakers are going to have their hands full with Victor Oladipo and company.
