Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson has been involved in plenty of trade rumors. Here are three reasons why trading him would be the right move.
The Los Angeles Lakers are going to be busy in the coming days with the trade deadline for the NBA being Thursday, February 8th. Some teams will be buyers and some will be sellers.
The Los Angeles Lakers are likely to be sellers at the deadline, as they prepare for the huge 2018 free agent class that includes Paul George, LeBron James, and DeMarcus Cousins. One of the main players that the Lakers are rumored to trade is Jordan Clarkson.
It was first reported that he was made available for trades along with Julius Randle and Larry Nance Jr. This was followed by the report yesterday that the Lakers had offered Clarkson to the Detroit Pistons for Avery Bradley. If true, the trade fell through once Bradley was traded in a multi-player trade for Blake Griffin.
Clarkson has been killing it lately. In the past five games, he has averaged 24.0 points, 5.4 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game. This may seem like a reason to keep Clarkson, but not if you really think about it.
This puts the Lakers back at square one with their decision on moving Clarkson. It sure sounds like the Lakers are very willing to trade him, but is that the best decision for the team in the long-run? Here are three reasons why trading Jordan Clarkson is the right move for the Lakers.
