The Los Angeles Lakers had a tough night against the Orlando Magic. Check out our recap and highlights from the loss.

The Los Angeles Lakers were embarrassed on Wednesday night by the Orlando Magic. The Lakers were blown out of the Amway Center, losing by 21 points, 127-106. This was a pitiful effort from the Lakers, but it gets worse when digging even deeper.

Everything was working in the Lakers favor heading into the game. The Magic played last night against the Houston Rockets, while Los Angeles had been off since Sunday evening. Orlando was without their two best players, center Nikola Vucevic and forward Aaron Gordon. The Lakers were without Lonzo Ball, but they have been without him for the better part of the last month.

Despite all of that, the Lakers got absolutely crushed. They were out of sync and lackadaisical throughout the first half, but trailed only by seven going into halftime. Those same issues continued in the second half, but the Magic took full advantage this time.

Orlando would score 43 points in the third quarter, as they set a franchise record with nine 3-pointers made in the quarter. The Magic were on fire from deep all evening, as they knocked down a season-high 18 3-pointers on 32 attempts.

Six different players on Orlando made multiple 3-pointers. Backup point guard Shelvin Mack was the only player who attempted a 3-pointer on the team that didn’t make one. Evan Fournier led the way with five 3-pointers made, scoring 19 points in total. Mario Hezonja knocked down four 3-pointers off the bench en route to 14 points.

The Lakers, on the other hand, struggled mightily with their outside shot. Los Angeles shot only 4-of-20 on their 3-point attempts, as the perimeter was where the Magic had the biggest advantage tonight.

Jordan Clarkson was the only Lakers’ player to make multiple 3-pointers on the evening. He scored 20 points in the game, which was tied for the team lead with Julius Randle. Brandon Ingram, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Kyle Kuzma also scored in double-figures.

Luke Walton was unable to find a combination of players to provide production tonight. No matter who was in the game, the Lakers lacked energy and hustle, which led to the blowout loss.
